1969 Camaro Z28 before

This is my 1969 Camaro Z/28 a few years ago. I had to do a complete overhaul when I accidentally hit someone's dog, a very BIG dog. It folded the whole area under the front bumper down under the car and crushed my oil pan. Silly me, I left the engine running when I went to look and oil starvation caused some damage.
The colors were unusual, it was a metallic aspen green with a slight blue tinge added, we added the racing stripes on the side which were inspired by the Yenko and 'Cuda's stripes on the side. We painted those block, then for the clear we added a pearl blue additive which gave it what we have now. It has a pair of classic Thrush Outlander finned aluminum side pipes. At the time I had the original DZ 302 under the hood, but that poor engine has taken so much punishment I took it out to protect it, so I'm restoring it. BEtween the oil starvation and back before I was born it was stolen and ditched in a golf course water trap the engine block cracked in two places in the lifter valley and on the side of the block. Fixing those wasn't as easy as just welding them. I have an RS/SS grille with fogged plexiglass covering the headlights, it's actually a relatively popular look.
This car is worth more to me than most people's lives. It isn't perfect, and never will be. But it seems to almost have a mind and life of it's own. It doesn't seem to WANT to be perfect. Besides, if I made it perfect I would be scared to death to drive it, and it wants to be driven the way it was built to be driven. Just like a boxer wants to fight, The Camaro is made to be driven like it's stolen... again.
It has earned the name Meanstreak. Wait till they see what it can do NOW!
