Champion's perserverence

It was after the fight she noticed. After nearly five hours of fighting in a grueling brawl where there was no limit to rounds and a round only ended when there was a knock down. Old school rules. She lost to this opponent five times and in her obsessive training she pushed everyone away, including him. She chased him away because he interfered. She had won the fight this time vindicating herself from the losing streak. She was beat up and sore and exhausted and while she waited for the official decision she saw him. He never left. Not really. Despite the anger and heat from their argument he never stopped rooting for her. She never gave up and he never gave up on her. He looked up at her from ringside with pride and admiration and she couldn't help but welcome him in and there she found herself in his arms. The safest place in the world as far as she was concerned. She was his hero and she never thought of his prosthetic arms as cold steel, there was no place she'd rather be.
