The Big Man

A birthday present done for me by a friend!
This is Repo, the oldest character in my story. (He used to go under a different name and I decided to redefine him a bit to be a tad bit less on the nose. I always liked having a nice healthy amount of cheese on my stories but I figured I'd tone it down a tad) 
One of the big things about creating a character is that it makes them boring if they're indestructible or immortal because it steals from the impact of conflict. "Well you know they're going to survive... so why continue?" sort of thing. Though with Repo I took a different route. He is immortal and he can't be destroyed. Sure, he can still be stopped but it takes a real force of nature to do that. While he does fight some pretty ridiculous enemies his real conflict is with time. For one thing he knows his immortality is a curse... he's going to outlive everyone he loves so he has to find a way to break the curse. For another he is a man of science, and he knows that the Earth isn't going to be around forever. What happens when the moon breaks away from Earth's orbit? Or the sun goes supernova? He'll survive all of that and everything that happens. Hell, he weighs 572 pounds and floats about as well as a lead turd. If the environment melts the ice caps and everything is under water... so will he. He still needs air, even though he wont suffocate to death it's still going to be torture not being able to breathe, his lungs will still burn for air... his brain will still hurt from lack of oxygen... he'll still suffer the symptoms leading to death... he just wont die.
So he will fight to protect those he loves and while he wants to spend a lifetime with them he also wants to die alongside them. Like a normal man.
